Two special session are dedicated to the memory of Stepan Shvartsev and Tom Bullen

The WRI-16 and AIG-13 Organizing Committee has organized two special sessions which are dedicated to Stepan Shvartsev's and Tom Bullen's memory.

"Geological evolution of water-rock system: mechanisms, processes, factors, stages" is the session to honor the memory of Stepan Shvartsev.

Stepan Shvartsev was Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Laureate of the USSR State Prize, Head of the Siberian Hydrogeochemical School, a world-renowned scientist in the field of hydrogeology, oil and gas hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry, the founder of the new concept about geological evolution of the water-rock system. "Innovative Methods for Characterizing Metal and Nutrient Budgets in the Present and Past Terrestrial and Aquatic Environments" is the session to honor the memory of Tom Bullen.

Thomas Bullen was a Research Hydrologist at the U.S. Geological Survey and a former Secretary of the International Association of GeoChemistry (IAGC) and primary focused on the use of metal and metalloid isotopes and water chemistry to understand hydrologic and biogeochemical processes at scales ranging from mineral-water interfaces to water flow paths in watersheds and regional aquifers.
